The Grove News - 08/18/2006

If you are new to The Grove, we are glad that you joined us and hope you felt welcome among us!  We are a group of like-minded friends from different sound Christian churches around Montgomery that share life together.  Our prayer is that we will glorify God, be mission oriented, and grow together in His image as we hang out, attend our local churches, and keep on meeting on Tuesday nights.  Feel free to contact any of the people listed below for additional information regarding The Grove or check us out online at www.groveontheweb.blogspot.com.

Upcoming Activities:
Bowling!!! - Bowling will return on Thursday, August 24th 9:00pm at Brunswick off of Carmichael.
EnFuego - August 26th in Verbena, AL at 2:00 - 9:00pm.  This is a free all day event with music (3rd Day, Hyper Static Union, Grits) and speakers (David Nasser, Rick and Bubba).  Here is the link

Progressive Dinner - We are planning a Progressive Dinner for September 9th.  The progressive dinner will have us going to three different locations for each part of the meal (appetizers/salad, main course, dessert).  $5.00 will cover the meal expense for each person participating in the dinner.  We will need a few volunteers for their homes/apartment to be a location as well as some volunteers to help with the cooking.  Please contact Lauren Breeding if you are interested in volunteering.  We will have a sign up sheet at The Grove over the next few weeks for everyone who is interested in coming to the dinner and hanging out with everyone.  It will be a great opportunity to get to know everyone better!

This Week At The Grove (Tuesday 7:00pm - Gateway Baptist Church):
Bruno Resende will be speaking the next two weeks at The Grove followed by a praise and worship night the first week of September.  Remember to read Phillippians and Colossians this week in preparation for this upcoming Tuesday night.

" O Lord, you have searched me and you know me.  You know when I set and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.  You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.  Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord.  You hem me in behind and before; you have laid you hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, to lofty for me to attain.  Where can I go from your Spirit?  Where can I flee from your presence?  If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.  If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea; even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.  If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me," even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.  For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.  I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made..."
Psalm 139:1-14
