The Grove News - 11/08/2006

If you are new to The Grove, we are glad that you joined us and hope you felt welcome among us!  We are a group of like-minded friends from different sound Christian churches around Montgomery that share life together.  Our prayer is that we will glorify God, be mission oriented, and grow together in His image as we hang out, attend our local churches, and keep on meeting on Tuesday nights.  Feel free to contact any of the people listed below for additional information regarding The Grove or check us out online at www.groveontheweb.blogspot.com.

Upcoming Activities
Ping Pong / Corn Hole Tournament - This Saturday at 6:00pm at Chad and Bruno's place!  It is located off Narrow Lane behind Martin's restaurant and on Narrow Lane Court (back of the cul-de-sac).  Call Bruno for additional directions (334-207-5442).  We will also be cooking out for dinner so come join us!
Big Daddy Weave / Mark Schultz Concert - Monday, November 13th @ 7pm at Landmark Church of Christ

This Week At The Grove:  Alan Cross, Senior Pastor of Gateway, will be with us again.  He has done a great job these past two weeks teaching / reminding us that God is always with us working for a purpose and we need to constantly praise him in our lives to prepare us to turn to him when the difficult circumstances come our way.

Community Service (James 2:14-26):  If you are interested in volunteering with us at Brantwood children's home, please see Lauren Breeding for an application.  If you already have an application, please turn it in completed to Lauren next Tuesday at The Grove.

Prayer: We are meeting weekly on Sundays at 2:00pm to pray for The Grove and the direction God is seeking for us, people attending and visiting The Grove, as well as all the singles within the Montgomery community.
Also please lift up Rob Slagle's mom and family in prayer, who is undergoing an operation tomorrow.

"To man belong the plans of the heart, but from the Lord comes the reply of the tongue.  All a man's ways seem innocent to him, but motives are weighed by the Lord.  Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.  The Lord works out everything for his own ends - even the wicked for a day of disaster.  The Lord detests all the proud of heart.  Be sure of this:  They will not go unpunished.  Through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for; through the fear of the Lord a man avoids evil.  When a man's ways are pleasing to the Lord, he makes even his enemies live at peace with him."  Proverbs 16:1-7
